Volunteer Coordinator (3 days per week)
Racing Welfare is a national charity supporting working and retired staff from the British thoroughbred horseracing and breeding industry.
As part of our strategy to involve volunteers and expand our national coverage we are seeking to recruit a Volunteer Coordinator to be based at our Head Office in Newmarket.
This excellent opportunity will involve organising and developing Racing Welfare’s volunteering programme which involves volunteers based nationally across the UK.
This role will include responsibility for all aspects of recruitment, training and ongoing support of volunteers in a variety of welfare and fundraising roles. Working closely with the Regional Welfare Managers and fundraising team you will be responsible for matching the skills and availability of volunteers to roles available and for promoting volunteering opportunities.
We require a dynamic, highly motivated and flexible individual who will support the inclusion of volunteers in the work that we do. Knowledge and experience of the horseracing industry will be essential.
This is a permanent part-time (three days a week) position based at our head office, in Newmarket, and we offer a competitive salary and benefits package. The hours of work will be 21 hours a week, and the actual work days are flexible by agreement, within the normal Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm work period.
The post will require travel across the UK for which you will need to use your own car. A mileage allowance will be paid.
As this post will involve direct contact with young people and vulnerable adults, alongside some work of a sensitive nature, it will be subject to a satisfactory, enhanced DBS disclosure. We also make checks on staff working with vulnerable adults and young people against the DBS barred lists.
This is an exciting time to join the Jockey Club Group. If you would like to apply please email your CV and covering letter to email@example.com including your salary expectations and where you saw this vacancy.
