‘Ninety-something takes to three wheels’
‘Ninety-something’ Harry Ainley now has his new scooter supplied by Racing Welfare. Having spent a life time in the industry following an apprenticeship at the famous Weyhill Stables in Hampshire, Harry has now been retired from racing for a quarter of a century.
However, it is never too late to learn new tricks and pigeons and pedestrians alike scattered as he trialed the new scooter at alarming speeds in the health centre carpark in Market Drayton. This short range model is ideal for a whip round the supermarket ideals and the round trip to home of a mile or so.
Harry still follows racing on TV especially the jumps. His proudest moment was meeting Racing Welfare’s president, Princess Anne in the paddock at our Haydock charity meeting in November 2004, when the two could be seen in animated conversation. |
