Racing Welfare has a dedicated team of Welfare Officers who have been carefully selected for their skills and experiences.
They are based around the country in and around the main racing centres from the West Country to Scotland. We also have a mobile Welfare Officer, Paul Lodge, based in the north and Scotland.

Their role is to support all those in racing, either retired or just entering the industry. They are particularly adept at helping to obtain entitlement to benefits.
It is hard to measure the value of their support and care. This support can take the form of advice on finance, diet and nutrition, giving financial assistance to those in need, assisting the injured and their families or even just befriending the retired.
They also try to keep a watchful eye on the young, especially those away from home for the first time, advising on nutrition, life skills and even helping to find inexpensive accommodation.
As well as the Welfare Officers, we also offer the support of The Chaplain to Horseracing who also works closely with the Racing Schools.
Our elderley and disabled beneficiaries are given the opportunity to go on one of the two annual Racing Welfare holidays, either to Tenerife or a location in the UK and are accompanied by members of our staff.
