Racing Welfare works closely with the British Racing School in Newmarket and The Northern Racing College in Doncaster.
Our regional welfare officers endeavour to meet each new student on the course who will be going out to work in the industry, and ensure they are aware of the role we play within racing.
We can offer guidance to the youngsters, some of whom are away from home for the first time, and help to enhance their social and living skills.
It is vital that we forge a relationship at the beginning of these youngater's careers. We want to encourage them to enjoy their lives in racing and be confident there is always someone there to support them should they ever need our help.
“Working in a racing yard is a unique and rewarding experience.
It provides youngsters with a set of skills and disciplines that they will use for the rest of their lives”.Michael Caulfield
